La Gran Ordalada is the main night of fun and mayhem at Ordal’s festa major: a bar crawl that doesn’t stop until the sun comes up. This is a case of a 3D animated event poster: a rain of beer bottles, modeled and animated in 3D, in a still version and an animated one.
The challenge
A festa major is a town’s annual celebration, and Ordal, in the Penedès region of Catalonia, holds its own with a bar crawl as the big night out. The brief was the poster for the 2025 edition, with a double aim: to announce the live music line-up and to get people in the mood to party. The organizers set one non-negotiable condition: the quinto, the little beer bottle that is the emblem of the festival, had to appear, no matter what. The poster had to inform, grab attention on social media and also work in motion.
The process
We turned that demand into the concept: a rain of quintos, modeled and animated in 3D. To move away from realism and charge the image with energy, we applied an art direction of highly saturated color and flat lighting, with a color range that shifts throughout the animation. The bottles fall and tumble in electric blue with magenta details, and they change color as the piece goes on.
In the still version shown on social media, the typography is condensed, white and very large on a dark blue background: the name, “La Gran Ordalada,” and the date, August 1, 2025. One of the bottles has slipped into the title, between “La” and “Gran.” Below it comes the line-up: Charanga Los Mataos, Dj Badabronx, La Cara B and Owntrip, then the schedule, with tickets at 11:30 p.m. and the start at midnight. At the bottom are the organizers and collaborators.
We designed the poster in two versions, still and animated, so it could live on the festival’s social channels and, as a moving piece, stand out on a phone screen.
The result
The look and feel is exuberant, hypnotic and unashamed, and it translates the euphoria of the bar crawl visually. The poster, in still and animated versions, communicates the line-up (Charanga Los Mataos, a brass-band-style street group, through the streets and a DJ session at the sports hall until the early hours) and became the face of the event call-out on social media.
For the studio it is a good example of how a condition in the brief, the mandatory quinto, can become the central idea. If you are organizing a town festival or an event and want a poster that works on paper, on screen and in motion, we can work on it from the concept through to the animation.
