The Premis Crit 2025 needed all the graphics for the screens of a live gala. This is a case of awards show motion graphics: we were responsible for designing and animating every piece seen on the stage, in 2D and in 3D.
The challenge
An awards show happens live, and the stage screens have to work at the pace of the ceremony. The aim was clear: to keep the gala moving and the audience engaged from one moment to the next. That means pieces that come in and out without a hitch, that read well from the seats and that sit within the story of the event, from the opening to the last award. On top of that, the schedule was tight.
The process
The project combined 2D animation with 3D modeling and animation. We made the opening logo reveal, the transitions, the nominee templates, the VTRs (the pre-recorded video packages played between segments) and the chyrons, the text bars that identify names and categories.
For the look we started from the event’s graphics: yellow lettering on a dark background and yellow geometric fragments moving across the screen. The photos of the stage show the awards logo on the main screen with those fragments floating around it, and two side totems repeating the logo. Each category has its own template: “Millor projecte de l’any” (Best project of the year) or “Estil de vida” (Lifestyle) appear on the big screen and on the totems, within the same system.
We worked in After Effects and Blender to give the three-dimensional elements depth and realism. In Blender we modeled and animated the volumes, and in After Effects we combined them with the 2D layer, the text and the transitions. Thinking of it as a system rather than a set of loose pieces let us deliver all the material on the schedule we had.
The result
We delivered a high-impact visual system that stayed true to the identity of the event and reinforced the professionalism and spectacle of the live gala. The category templates, the chyrons and the transitions speak the same language, and it shows on stage: main screen, totems and presenters share a single image.
For the studio this project shows that we also work in motion, not only on paper: animation, 3D and graphics for events that have to be experienced live. If you are organizing a gala, a launch or a festival and need motion graphics for a big screen, we can take care of it from design through to the final file delivery.
